About CRS Calculator
crs-calculator.com is an independent, free tool that helps Express Entry candidates understand their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. It is not affiliated with IRCC or the Government of Canada, and it does not sell immigration services.
Who runs this site
CRS Calculator is built and maintained by Mike, a software developer. Mike is not a licensed immigration consultant (RCIC) or lawyer, so the site explains how the CRS points work but does not give immigration advice. It is not run by a consultancy or recruiter, has no commercial relationship with any of them, and no one pays to be mentioned or recommended here. Questions and corrections go to info@crs-calculator.com; past corrections are listed in the corrections log. Everything on the site comes from IRCC's published rules and data, checked automatically and reviewed by hand when something changes.
Where the data comes from
- Points: IRCC's published CRS criteria (last verified 2026-10-03).
- Language levels: IRCC's official test equivalency charts for CELPIP, IELTS, PTE Core, TEF Canada and TCF Canada.
- Draws and pool distribution: IRCC's rounds of invitations data, refreshed automatically several times a day.
How we test accuracy
On every update, our scoring engine is checked automatically against the scoring code of IRCC's own CRS tool on 5,000 random profiles. 4,709 give exactly the same total; the other 291 differ by exactly the amount explained by two documented edge cases where IRCC's tool does not follow IRCC's published criteria, and there we follow the criteria. You can check worked examples yourself on the test cases page; the full method is in the methodology.
How the site is kept up to date
- Draws: IRCC's rounds of invitations are checked every six hours. When a new round appears, the draw pages, cut-off comparisons and pool percentiles are rebuilt automatically.
- Rules: IRCC's criteria page and the scoring code of IRCC's own calculator are compared with ours every day. Any change opens a review before the site is updated, and confirmed changes are logged on the rule changes page.
- Corrections: if you find a result that looks wrong, send us the shared result link. Confirmed errors are fixed and the fix is tested against IRCC's calculator before it goes live.
How the site is funded
The site is free to use. It may show advertising to cover its costs; ads never change the calculation, and the calculator will never ask for your contact details.
Your privacy
The calculator runs entirely in your browser. We do not ask for your name, email or phone number, and your answers are never sent to our servers. See the privacy policy.
Limits
The result is an estimate. Eligibility for programs and categories, document requirements and admissibility are not assessed here. For advice about your situation, consult a licensed Canadian immigration consultant (RCIC) or lawyer, or official IRCC resources.
