Skill transferability points FAQ

What is the maximum for skill transferability?

100 points in total. Education combinations are capped at 50, foreign work experience combinations at 50, and the trade certificate combination at 50.

Do I get transferability points with CLB 6?

Not for education or foreign work — those need CLB 7 or higher in all four abilities. A certificate of qualification in a trade counts from CLB 5.

Why does CLB 9 matter so much here?

Most combinations double at CLB 9 (for example 13 → 25 and 25 → 50), so reaching CLB 9 can add 50 or more transferability points on top of the core language points.
